Additional Formatting

NetCharts Preformance Dashboards allows you to format charts, tables, layouts and much more. This section will give you insight into other common formatting areas.

Page Filters

The filters in KPI Preferences panels allow the data shown within the single panel to be constrained. For example you could choose a specific set of countries, and then filter on specific cities. Additionally you may isolate specific dates, and/or limit the list of products to items in the list.

You may also add a set of filters to constrain the entire page. Click the Edit button, edit, atop the dashboard to enter the Edit Dashboard panel. Click the Select KPI from KPI Collection button, in the Add Dashboard Content section. Under the KPI Collection confirm that Sales is selected by clicking it, then under the KPI Type click Filters. Reposition the newly added Sales FilterKPI to the left column, under Sales Dashboard, as follows:

and click the Finish button.

NOTE: Do not panic when, with the addition of page filters, all your KPI’s suddenly appear to loose their data. All the KPI’s on the page are now under the control of the new page filter, and the default settings will filter out most of the data in the KPI’s we’ve configured. Once you complete the configuration of the page filter, the data will return, and the KPI’s will be restored.

In the newly added Sales Filter panel click the Edit Preferences icon, delete, in the upper right hand corner. Here we will limit which filters are available by unchecking all items but Product Name and clicking the Apply button.

Close the preferences panel by clicking the Edit Preferences icon, delete. The filter can now be used to constrain all KPIs on the page to show data only for some subset of Products.

Column Sizing

Sometimes, it is nice to create a dashboard with even length columns. In the tutorial, the right column is a little shorter than the left. Changing the height of individual charts and tables will adjust overall column height.

Open the Edit Preferences for any chart or table by clicking the preference icon, delete. Next to the Visualization drop down menu, click the pencil icon, delete, to the right. In the General tab enter the desired Height. Click the OK button, and collapse the preferences panel. The completed dashboard now appears like this:
