Business Challenge

After consolidating their business data in a new, sophisticated CRM system, American Exteriors needed a performance management solution that could produce high-level dashboards for the Executive Team, while also building in-depth dashboards for Sales, Marketing, and Operations.

Each department brought specific requirements to the table.  The Office of the CFO wanted to understand fluctuations in the revenue cycle, and needed a financial reporting solution to more easily analyze gross sales, net sales, and other key performance metrics. Sales and Marketing wanted a single weekly dashboard that could display data from multiple departments, including calls completed and leads generated, sales rep performance, and sales office performance.  Operations wanted to evaluate the effectiveness of each business line in every manufacturing plant, and needed a dashboard that could quickly identify lags within the manufacturing process.

Finally, ease of implementation was a critical requirement.  With operations in twelve states and relationships with eight different distributors, American Exteriors needed a solution that would be easy to deploy, use and maintain.  Most importantly, their new business performance management solution would have to scale to support an expansion rate of two new markets each year.

In-place data calculations allowed the Office of the CFO to more easily identify that the majority of sales were booked during the last few days of each month. With this insight, the Sales Team quickly adjusted its efforts to effectively redistribute revenue more evenly throughout the month. Sales has better pipeline visibility than ever before, and are now able to easily monitor their performance in real-time.
