Multiple Data Source Support
NCPD allows users to configure access to multiple data sources simultaneously. A dashboard can be created that contains multiple KPIs, each with data drawn from a separate data source. Create dashboards containing KPIs that draw data from CRM, finance, and inventory systems to provide a complete picture of your business operations.
Comparative Analytics
NCPD allows users to quickly create comparative KPIs, meaning they present multiple views of the same metric in a single graphic element. For example, users can create KPIs that display the value of a metric in two different time frames, for two different regions, or between one region and the average of all regions. Comparative KPIs can also present multiple metrics in the same dimension - for example, two cost metrics and three revenue metrics by month in a single chart.
Simple Installation
NCPD Desktop is installed with a simple graphical wizard. Installation does not require any IT resources or intervention.
Graphical Configuration Wizards
NCPD provides graphical tools that guide users through the initial configuration process. A rich Web 2.0 interface allows users to connect to a corporate database, select tables of interest, and define the metrics that are of specific interest.
Customizable Library of Visualization Styles
NCPD contains a library filled with dozens of prebuilt KPI visualization styles. Dial, bar, pie, line, pareto, and heat map charts (along with data tables) can be selected and used to create KPIs that most effectively convey business intelligence and business analytics.
Customizable Drill-Down to Detail Records
NCPD graphical KPIs provide drill-down, allowing users to click on elements of a chart or table to present a detailed display of records that comprise a particular segment of data. Drill-down tables can be customized to include user-selectable data fields.
Create Multiple Dashboards
NCPD allows users to create and populate a virtually unlimited number of personalized dashboards. Users can create, edit, and delete dashboards on the fly, thus adapting to business needs. Each dashboard can contain multiple KPIs and can be configured in a variety of page layouts. The dashboards can be grouped into a folder hierarchy for easy navigation.
Intuitive “Visual Reporting” Functionality
When viewing data in a table for reporting, NCPD provides powerful, intuitive capabilities such as the ability to sort, change or format columns and rows with a single click. NCPD also immediately, and intuitively pivots multidimensional tables with a simple drag and drop. Plus, user-defined, row level alerts are available for quick notification of ‘hot spots.’
Page Controls
NCPD page controls allow for the detailed investigation of data. NCPD page menus place data filters in a dashboard that controls all KPIs. Change a date range or select a subset of records on a page menu, and all KPIs on the page automatically update.
Track Business Performance against Goals
NCPD enables the creation, tracking, and management of goal values for KPIs. Compare performance on any metric against a goal. Create color-coded scorecards and dial gauges that display progress against business objectives. Manage separate goals for different metrics or time frames.
Advanced Interactivity and Personalization
NCPD allows users to effectively explore their data with a set of controls, including:
- Preferences Panel
A preferences panel slides open to allow users to change almost any characteristic of a KPI. Users can change filters to constrain the data in different ways, restrict the KPI data to only the 20 most significant records, or change the style of the visualization. - Export to Excel
Users can export the data in a KPI to a desktop Excel file. - Maximize
Users can temporarily maximize one KPI from a dashboard, expanding it to full screen. - Minimize
Users can temporarily minimize individual KPIs on a dashboard, leaving more screen real estate for others. - Access Control (Enterprise Edition)
NCPD Server Edition is integrated with Microsoft Active Directory for access control. User access can also be configured and managed using an NCPD internal XML file-based access control system. - Data Category-Level Security (Enterprise Edition)
NCPD offers access control for individual data categories. An NCPD administrator can identify users and groups of users that are allowed access to a particular KPI collection. Users without such access will not be able to create dashboards that contain those KPIs. - Community Pages (Enterprise Edition)
Users can publish pages for other licensed users to view. Shared dashboards can be copied or cloned, allowing users to personalize an instance of community dashboards. - Role-Based System Privileges (Enterprise Edition)
Users can be assigned specific privileges within the system. Privileges include:- Adding and deleting users
- Managing and configuring data access
- Adding new KPI collections
- Publishing community pages
- Creating new dashboard pages
- Annotations
NCPD supports adding text, comments, and/or annotations to a dashboard. Users can add multiple annotations to a dashboard and use them to add narrative to the overall dashboard or to individual KPIs. - Content Types
A variety of content types are available from NCPD KPI collections, including ad hoc content that is not necessarily derived from a directly supported data source. This freestyle content may be text, images, charts, or data tables. This allows users to tailor the message of a dashboard by adding a variety of different content types from virtually any source. - Printable/Distributable Dashboards
An image of an NCPD Dashboard can be exported for print, e-mail, or historical archival.
