NetCharts Applets 5.0 requires a Java runtime version 1.3.1 or greater. Java runtime version 1.5.0 and greater produced the best performance and graphics quality.

NOTE: Internet Explorer's default JRE 1.1.7 does not meet the minimumum requirement. Internet Explorer must use a Java plug-in to render NetCharts Pro 5.0 charts.

Data Connectivity

NetCharts Applets 4.x no longer contains a built-in JDBC data interface.

However, both client-side and server-side connectivity are readily available using a 3-tiered architecture where ASP, CGI, JSP, PHP, or Cold Fusion are used to dynamically construct the page containing the applet.

Web Browser Requirements

Internet Explorer: version 3.0 or higher; 5.0 or higher recommended. For IE 5.5:
- 486DX/66 MHz or higher
- NT 4.0, Service Pack 3 or higher req'd.
- 16 MB RAM for Win95/98
- 64 MB RAM for NT
- 27 to 80 MB HD space for install
NetScape: version 3.0 or higher; 6.0 or higher recommended. For Netscape 6.0.1:
- Pentium 233 MHz, 64 MB RAM for Windows
- PowerPC604e, 266 MHz, or G3, 64 MB RAM for Macintoshes
- Pentium 233 MHz, 64 MB RAM for Red Hat Linux 6.0, 6.1, 7.1, with X11R6 (also needs libjpeg.so.62 for SuSe Linux 6.2)

Hard Drive Space: 40 MB for installation of class libraries, examples, and documentation
