New ChartWorks Server Release Brings Speed, Enhanced Data Visualization to Applications

Rockville, Maryland, February 1, 2001- The newest version of one of Visual Mining's premier products, ChartWorks Server, is now available. Version 3.7 this self-contained interactive data visualization service has stepped up performance, improved image quality, and dynamic information displays within charts without the use of separate plug-ins.

ChartWorks Server enables web-based, up to the minute, at-a-glance, understanding of various forms of data. The dynamic charts and tables generated by ChartWorks Server provide a new level of impact and interactivity to web applications and the information they deliver.

Broad Integration Capabilities

ChartWorks Server can "chart-enable" the entire spectrum of web applications. It's 100% Java implementation allows it to be deployed on Windows NT, Windows 2000 and most popular Unix variants. Its simple HTTP-based API allows it to plug into most popular web application frameworks, from the simplest CGI scripts to the most sophisticated Enterprise Class Application Servers.

ChartWorks Servers are deployed around the world in web applications built with Netscape Iplanet, SilverStream, IBM Websphere, Alliare's ColdFusion and Jrun, and BEA Weblogic. The software provides mechanisms for extracting data from a wide variety of sources including Oracle, Domino, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, Informix, flat files, and TCP/IP streaming sources. ChartWorks Server can also leverage the data extraction features of other application servers allowing application designers an additional degree of flexibility in building chart-enhanced pages.

Enhanced Performance. Version 3.7 operates between 2x and 4x faster than the previous version without caching .and with caching "on" it's even higher.
Dynamic Pop Up Labels Over Images-Without Plugins. Pop-up labels in chart images (PNG, JPG, etc.) expand the capabilities of your application. The chart and its underlying information are returned to users faster than ever before-and no plug-ins to deal with.
