User Interface Engineer
Visual Mining's product development team has an immediate opening for a user interface engineer. Our company is small, stable, and profitable and our award-winning software powers thousands of dashboarding, data visualization, and performance management applications worldwide. Members of the engineering team are intelligent, motivated, and highly skilled and work together in a collaborative environment.
Primary responsibilities:
- Designing and developing new web based user interfaces for desktop and mobile devices
- Maintaining, refactoring, and polishing existing user interfaces
- Creating and enforcing a consistent design language
Requirements:
- Passion for producing beautiful OO Javascript
- Extensive knowledge of at least one Javascript framework: Sencha ExtJS (preferred) , JQuery, or Dojo
- Fluency speaking JSON via AJAX
- Expertise in CSS2/3 and HTML4/5
- Dedication to providing a remarkable user experience
- Outstanding design sense
- Precision in verbal and written communication
- Permanent right to work in the U.S.
Desirable skills:
- Competence using Java on the server-side
- Development of web based mobile device UIs
- Proficiency with SQL

Professional Services Consultant
Visual Mining, Inc., a leader in data visualization and dashboard solutions based in the Washington, DC metro area, is expanding. We are seeking a talented consultant to serve our growing customer base as a valued member of our Professional Services organization. Responsibilities:
- Work to identify consulting opportunities and capture client requirements and specifications involving our NetCharts Performance Dashboards (NCPD) self-service business intelligence/visualization solution
- Perform on-line and on-site demonstrations of our products and provide technical knowledge and expertise to our sales staff
- Train business users in the use of our NCPD and NCPD for Dynamics solutions
- Design dashboards and implement our NCPD and NCPD for Dynamics solutions for new and existing clients
- Provide technical support to our current and prospective customers via phone, email and the web for our NCPD and NCPD for Dynamics solutions
- Other duties, as assigned
Required Experience & Skills:
- Bachelors degree plus 3 to 5 years equivalent software consulting experience defining requirements and designing reporting systems
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics an advantage), business intelligence solutions, SQL databases, and reporting tools such as FRx and Crystal Reports
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Accounting background highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- A positive, upbeat attitude and a desire to work with customers
- Must have permanent right to work in US
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time

- Work with engineering organization to identify future product requirements or design custom end-user solutions
- Provide technical support to our current and prospective customers via phone, email and the web
- Perform on-line and on-site demonstrations of our products and provide technical knowledge and expertise to our sales staff
Required Experience & Skills:
- Bachelors degree plus 2-5 years equivalent experience
- Java experience
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Other web application development experience (ASP, ASP.NET) preferred
- Front-end web development experience (HTML, JavaScript) preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- A positive, upbeat attitude and a desire to work with customers
- Must have permanent right to work in US
